Is it common to feel this way? Especially at MY age. I’ve barely stepped out to the society.

The search for the right job wears me out. I can’t keep feeling hopeful forever. Even Susan Meyer gave up when she struggled with her kidney problem. Although my case is nothing compared to hers. My friends were right when they said I put too much pressure on myself. Even though I’m only looking for my first job, but I’m already hoping it’d turn into a career…

Actually I have an job interview tomorrow morning, and yet I’m still here. The job has nothing to do with what I studied and my interest, but I’ve decided to attend with zero expectation and just take it as an interview skills practice. I actually start to kinda like attending interviews. Ha! Being an attention whore that I am, it feels like people are interested in me. xD This paragraph is so salah to write at the night before securing a job!

It’s been a while since I last lepak with my girls. Missed them badly. I’m looking forward to meet them this evening. They always make me feel inspired, recharged and ready to take over the world after every outing. Just what I needed for my “assignment” this weekend, as I’m applying for the Conceptual Writer position at an advertising firm. Something I see myself doing in the long run.

The application requires me to submit my writing samples and a 500-word piece introducing myself. I’m thinking to submit L2E as writing samples, however… I sound like a “female dog” in my last entry about Streamyx. >.< But hey, in my defense, we have to express our thoughts in order to stimulate the artistic side in us.

As for the self-intro writeup, I’m kinda skeptical about it. It’s so easy to come across as a primary school essay. And that just doesn’t cut it. I was thinking to use this entry, but too bad this only describes the state I am currently in, not the things and experience that made me “me”. Perhaps I could tell those in person.

What do ya think? Is this good enough to serve as an introduction about myself and leave the rest to be told in the interview (if I were invited)?

Lose weight, maybe you'll go faster.

Thank God my Bro borrowed a P1 and salvaged me from civilisation deprivation. It’s lightyears faster, although not as consistent as Streamyx back in our national ISP’s heyday.

My temporary P1 speed at 7:23 PM, Streamyx couldn't load Speedtest.net at all.

I was in a hurry and needed to check my Yahoo! Mail earlier tonight. Streamyx wouldn’t let me do so and I had to resort to my BBerry’s web browser as I didn’t set up Yahoo! Mail on my phone. No surprise, done checking my mail in a breeze.

Right now, Streamyx is the worst ISP for me. And puh-leeaassseee don’t ask me to upgrade to 2 or 4Mbps when you can’t even do 1Mbps right. Plus my area isn’t supported, so don’t bother. This is the perfect timing for other ISPs to strike. I’d love to see Streamyx bites the dust.

In case you’re wondering, my DiGi broadband is working fine. When I’m near the window that is. The quota is a little much for me, am planning to switch to Maxis for lower quota and price once the contract is fulfilled. I only use broadband when I’m not home, high quota is not my priority.

Too bad Maxis no longer offer a special price for students.

I don’t know what brings me to blog again, I’m feeling kinda mellow tonight. Listening to laid-back songs, with no assignments to rush. Guess it must be part of the reason. Some of you might think, “Start working on your coming assignments then!” Well I just submitted one today, give me some time off okay.

For the past weeks, I’ve been thinking to get another blog to post anonymously. A place for me to vent, something like my personal PostSecret. I have Facebook and Twitter but I don’t wanna annoy my friends with my whining.

I gave the idea another thought tonight and I figured better not, because it’s not healthy to keep dark thoughts to myself. Maybe I’ll just share those that I couldn’t forget with close ones. Some are just pointless thoughts I have when I’m feeling down.

What do you do to make yourself feel better?

I don’t stay at home much so I kinda need an Internet service that gives me mobility. I’ve tried Celcom before and the signal was way below my expectation. Its PING is higher than DiGi’s 1 hundred something ms on average, whatever PING is.

DiGi’s coverage is considered wide, here in the island. They promised an average speed of 0.7 Mb/s for their Broadband Explore package at RM 98 for the 1st year and RM108 from 2nd year onwards. Signed up for it and a month later they introduced some promo at RM 78 (1st year) for the same package! I was like, ‘I ain’t gonna let them screw me over like this!’ Went to the centre and terminated my current account to register for a new one. Oh did I mention this package comes with a free modem? It can be used as a thumb drive when you insert your memory card in there.

Speed-wise, it managed to hit slightly more than 1 Mb/s usually. Once I even brought to Cameron Highlands but it ran on GPRS. This is actually an advantage over P1, even though the speed is slow. With P1, connection is out of the question once you’re outside coverage area.

Heard some said you couldn’t use torrent if you’re with this kind of broadband. Well I’ve downloaded a few shows using torrent with no problems encountered. Regular downloads using web browser are fine too. However one thing I must mention is, it is better if you do your surfing one thing at a time for a smoother experience. Not advisable to have so many tabs running simultaneously. It also helps if you don’t use torrent and browse web pages together.

In terms of customer service, you can forget about it. Tried to call them to help me with my online account issue and I was asked to hold on the line. Waited for 10 minutes and my line was cut! Celaka, I know.

The verdict is, I wouldn’t solely rely on it for Internet connection unless my room has a window or I’m outdoor. DiGi Broadband performs best when it meets either one of the requirements. For me, it makes a good reliable backup to Streamyx whenever Streamyx dies on me. Happens all the time. *Eye roll*

Didn’t have any photo editing software (preinstalled iPhoto couldn’t help much) when I wanted to slap some words on the picture so I googled a bit and found a few people suggesting GIMP. Can be downloaded for free, it is like a lighter version of Photoshop with cleaner interface. Pretty simple to use.

Still need to get used to it though. The shortcuts aren’t exactly the same as Photoshop.What kind of photo editing software do you use?

Really need to check its warranty date A.S.A.P. but can’t send it to fix yet as my graduation is on September 12. Gotta use it for some heavy cam whoring session. Now I pray for warranty date to be after September 12. Don’t wanna fork out any money to fix it. I’d rather get a new compact for my own. Kinda eyeing on Lumix. Sharing a cam with my family can be inconvenient sometimes. Especially when I’m out with my besties and my Mom would go all ‘Hey Huang Yi Fei from Hua Hee Dai is here! Send me the cam now.’ on me.

It’s a shame this happens. Been defending this Nikon when friends compared their Canons or Sonys to it. In case anyone wanna rub this in my face, it still takes ass-kicking pictures.
